Our u-profiles are made from fibreglass, or GRP, which is a plastic based composite consisting of dry glass fibres and polyester. The unique properties of this material make our u-profile a cost-effective alternative to wood, concrete, steel or aluminium u profiles.
Do you have problems with corrosion? Our fibreglass u-profiles are corrosion-free and do not rot nor deteriorate even in harsh environments and water, which is often the case with wood, steel and aluminium u profiles. With GRP you get a durable u profile with a long life time and low maintenance needs.
Are you facing weight restrictions or just want lightweight u profiles that are easier to handle, then fibreglass might be the solution. Drilling into the profiles is relatively straightforward. An ordinary metal drill bit should be used to drill individual holes or small numbers of holes. The use of a special drill bit is recommended for larger numbers of holes. This will ensure that the hole rims are clean and free from burring. A spoon bit and centre bit can be used to drill large holes. You can find lots of advice about drilling here.
