Innovative Bridge Solution in Lyss, Switzerland

The municipality of Lyss has chosen Fiberline’s composite bridge solution to replace an old structure in the town’s industrial area. The project called for a turnkey solution due to limited space and the customer’s lack of experience with bridge construction.

“We had never assembled a bridge ourselves before, and given the limited space, we quickly concluded it would be best to install the bridge as a complete prefabricated element,” says Timon Bucher, Managing Director at URBANUM AG.

After evaluating various materials, Fiberline’s FRP bridge was selected as the most cost-effective and durable option compared to concrete, steel, or wood, particularly in the humid conditions of the site. The non-slip surface ensures safe use for pedestrians and cyclists in all weather conditions, while the design blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.

Fiberline was ultimately chosen not only for its quality and value.

“Environmental aspects were very important to us, and Fiberline’s material turned out to be the perfect solution,” concludes Bucher.
