A Modern Approach to Bridge Upgrades

As part of a bridge infrastructure upgrade in Lendogóra in Poland, the existing structure required either major refurbishment or full replacement. Traditional materials such as timber or steel would have involved ongoing maintenance, corrosion risks, and periodic protection works.

Instead, the project team selected a modern solution based on structural FRP profiles and planks from Fiberline Building Profiles. The reason for this is because FRP provide a durable and efficient alternative to conventional construction materials, offering:

• Corrosion resistance and long-term durability in demanding environments
• No need for regular maintenance
• Low weight combined with high structural strength
• Faster and simpler installation
• Reduced life-cycle costs

By choosing Fiberline’s FRP solution, the investor was able to address the structural challenges of the bridge while significantly improving durability and safety - optimizing the total cost of ownership over the structure’s lifetime.

This project is another strong example of how structural composites are increasingly replacing traditional materials in modern bridge infrastructure.
