Our products are CE certified according to the EN13706 1-3 standard. This certification is your guarantee of consistently high quality every time you buy from us and use our products. Read more

LOW WEIGHT

Fiberglass enables lightweight and robust constructions, making installation faster. Although the material is comparable to steel, the specific weight of Fiberglass is only a quarter of steel. Read more

STRENGTH & STIFFNESS

Fiberglass is an exceptionally strong material, rivaling steel, aluminum, and wood. Composite profiles offer similar weight to aluminum, while being just 20% the weight of concrete and 40% of steel, making them highly efficient. Read more

CORROSION-FREE

Composite materials are generally very durable, with only a few exceptions. They resist a variety of aggressive liquids and environments, resulting in long lifespan and minimal need for maintenance. Read more

WEATHER RESISTANT

Fiberglass is UV-resistant and can withstand temperatures between -40 and +80 degrees Celsius without deterioration of its properties. Additionally, it tolerates seawater and other atmospheric influences. Read more

ELECTRICAL INSULATION

Fiberglass profiles are electrically insulating. They are suitable for use in connection with all electrical constructions, such as along railway tracks, power plant installations, etc., as they are suitable for both low and medium voltage. Read more

EASY TO WORK WITH

The processing of fiberglass profiles is significantly easier than for metals such as steel, and just as efficient as for wood. This makes it easy to handle solutions with our profiles on site. Read more

THERMALLY INSULATING

Fiberline's fiberglass profiles have a significantly higher thermal insulating capacity compared to steel and aluminum. Read more

SUSTAINABLE

Fiberline's products are manufactured energy-efficiently through pultrusion. The low weight relative to strength and long lifespan make them a cost- and energy-efficient alternative. Read more

Where can a fiberglass grating be used?

Our GRP/fiberglass grating is corrosion resistant and a durable alternative to a steel grating, metal grating or other types of gratings. This makes our fiberglass grating a cost-effective alternative in harsh and humid environments where you can save costs for future maintenance and costly downtime.

These properties make our fibreglass gratings especially suitable for these industries

  • Offshore installations

  • Chemical industry

  • Cooling towers

  • Bridges

  • Swimming pools

  • Wastewater and chemical plants

  • Rail industry

  • Marine and Coast

In addition, and in contrast to metal gratings, our GRP grating is not exposed to electrolytic corrosion. The fiberglass grating also provide electrical insulation and can therefore be used along railway lines with minimal earthing. Learn more about our industries here

Easy to work with fiberglass open mesh

Our moulded GRP/fibreglass grating is as easy to work with as timber and you do not need any special tools nor hot work, which is often the case with a steel grating or steel mesh grating. They can therefore easily be adapted to existing piping systems and other arrangements at the installation site. The weight ratio and low weight also ensure that you can easy work with them – often without the need for any special machinery nor cranes.

Why choose a maintenance free fibreglass grating?

Our maintenance free moulded fiberglass grating has an unrivalled weight-to-strength ratio unlike a metal grating, so it can be used in places where a high load-bearing capacity is needed.

With a unrivalled durability the grating has minimal or no maintenance needs which has a possitive effect on costs for operation and maintenance. Be inspired by other customers here

Use fiberglass gratings for these constructions!

Our fibreglass grating is often used for constructions where there is a need of light weight, slip resistant top surface, and where other materials succumbs to corrosion. We have listed some ideas here:

  • Bridges

  • Walking surface for platforms and access ways

  • Stairs and staircases

  • Surface ensuring

  • Top surface

  • Oily and slippery environments

  • Trench covers

  • Industrial flooring

  • Contact with process water, salt water, chlorinated water and other corrosive fluids

  • Corrosive environments

Frequently asked questions about fibreglass

What is fibreglass made of?

Fibreglass is a composite material that consists of glass fibres and thermoset plastics. Fibreglass components can be made up in many different ways, among others, by pultrusion, moulding and hand lay-up. By combining the properties of these two materials, the profile’s unique properties are tailor-made and adapted specifically for their intended use. Those properties include high strength, low weight, excellent corrosion resistance and good electrical insulation properties. We use pultrusion, which is an energy-optimised process that makes our profiles environmentally sustainable in the production phase. Learn more from this video, where we explain the production process.

What properties does fibreglass have?

Fibreglass, being a composite material, gives the possibility of combining the properties of many different materials. These properties include high strength, low weight and outstanding durability. That makes fibreglass an unrivalled alternative to traditional materials such as concrete, steel, aluminium and timber. Furthermore, it is thermally insulating, electrically non-conducting and easy to work with. See all the advantages or find out about how fibreglass can be glued to other materials such as steel and timber here.

How is fibreglass manufactured?

Fibreglass solutions can be made in many different ways, among others, by pultrusion, moulding and hand lay-up. Pultrusion is a process that allows continuous production of fibreglass profiles with constant cross-section and material properties that are precisely tailored for the purpose. At Fiberline, pultrusion takes place by continual reinforced material being pulled through a guide where the fibres are placed precisely in relation to the profile cross section. The fibres are then led through processing equipment where they are impregnated with the matrix material. Watch our video about pultrusion here.
